2012- Annual EEO Public File Report

The purpose of this EEO Public File Report ( Annual EEO Report ) is to comply with Section

73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC s Equal Employment Rules.

This Annual EEO Report summarizes the relevant hiring and EEO outreach conducted by the following station:

w48cx Hilton Head Island, SC

The information contained in this Annual EEO Report covers the time period from

June 1st, 2011 to May 31st 2012  (the Applicable Period).

Consistent with the FCC s Rules, this Annual EEO

Report contains the following information:

A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) during the Applicable Period;

For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy, including any such

sources that have asked to receive information from the station(s) about any new job openings,

which are separately identified;

A list and brief description of the community outreach activities, not directly related to the opening

of job positions, undertaken by the station(s) during the Applicable Period.

The following sections provide the required information, and summarize the station(s) EEO efforts during

the Applicable Period. This Annual Report was placed in each station s public inspection file on June 1st

2012 and posted on the stations website, in accordance with the FCC s EEO Rules.

Outreach Activities

Internship Program for the past 4 years WHHI-TV has offered internships to high school and college students to work at the stations in Sales and Production.

Under employee supervision, the interns have the opportunity attend sales training meetings, learn to shoot and

edit commercials, news stories and post and update web videos.

The emphasis is to give the interns hands on experience and training on company equipment that will help when

they enter the workforce.

Interns have the ability to further their experience in the

TV industry and apply for open positions at  WHHI.

WHHI hosted interns from the following schools in 2012:

Hilton Head Island High School

Savannah College of Art and Design

Clemson University

Station Tours

Station tours are conducted on a regular basis for

schools and community organizations.

During the tours participants see how WHHI-TV works and students are encouraged to

sign up for the WHHI-TV internship program.

Career Fairs

Station manager Wayne Morris and Station President John Byrne attended the USC School of Journalism

Career Fair in March 2012.

Public Appearances

A WHHI representative spoke weekly at BNI (business networking international) events from May 2010 thru May

2012. Job openings were the topic of the speeches on several occasions.

A WHHI representative speaks weekly at the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce

Station manager Wayne Morris spoke at the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce in May of 2012

Station manager Wayne Morris spoke about station updates at the Bluffton Merchants Association Committee

meetings in February 2012
