Bluffton Police Accepting Citizen Police Academy Applications

June 28, 2019, Bluffton, S.C. – The Bluffton Police will be accepting applications for the 2019 Citizen Police Academy. The Academy is a 10-week program that will teach chosen applicants about the four divisions of the department, traffic enforcement, K9 program, evidence collection, fingerprint recovery, defensive tactics, firearms and more.

“This is a unique opportunity for the public to learn what it’s like to be a police officer. It gives the public a rare opportunity to see our equipment and get to know our officers on a personal basis,” said Bluffton Police Chief Chris Chapmond.

The training will be held from August 15th to October 17th, 2019 on Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at the Bluffton Police Department located on Bluffton 101 Progressive Street.

To submit an application you must be 18 years or older, have a valid driver’s license and agree to a background check. Apply by visiting the Police Station located at 101 Progressive Street to fill out the application or complete the application at the bottom of the Bluffton Police  Department’s website at Fill out your application as soon as possible as there are limited seats in the class.
