Author Visits with Matt Goldman & Jeyda Bolukbasi
The Conroy Center will be hosting visiting author events on back-to-back Tuesdays, May 31 and June 7 at two of Beaufort’s independent bookstores.
On May 31, at 5:00 p.m., we will be at the Beaufort Bookstore (2127 Boundary Street) for a publication day author visit with New York Times bestselling mystery writer and Emmy-winning TV writer Matt Goldman. Matt’s newest novel, Carolina Moonset, is set here in Beaufort, where Matt himself has family connections. He’ll be interviewed “on stage” by Jonathan Haupt. On June 7, also at 5:00 p.m., we’ll be at NeverMore Books (910 Port Republic Street) for an author visit with 17-year-old two-time novelist Jeyda Bolukbasi from Walterboro. Jeyda is also a talented visual artist and the first junior volunteer staff member of the Center for Birds of Prey. She is the author of the novels Tuah and The Phoenix, both about bird life. She’ll be interviewed by Jonathan Haupt and 17-year-old Beaufort High intern Millie Bennett. Seating is limited so please call the bookstore in advance to reserve: 843-812-9460.
