Summer Reading Program at Beaufort County Library

No need to register. All you need is our gameboard and things to read! We are partnering with the Beaufort County School District again this year to ensure that all students are sent home with gameboards before school lets out this year.
We have summer reading kickoff parties, a story magic artist (Yasu Ishida), a juggler (Todd Key), and a kiddie rock band (Big Bang Boom). These events are geared toward families and kids of all ages.
This year there are paper gameboards featuring an array of 36 squares. Each square encourages participants to read for 20 minutes and complete a fun activity, such as reading in your favorite spot, learning about the Lowcountry, and reading in your pajamas, just to name a few!
Our community has been very generous again this year. We have gift cards to pizza places, toy stores, restaurants and more! Participants have a chance to even win a dolphin cruise, kayak tours, museum memberships, and more! We also have our Reader Reward Card again, meaning when you finish the program you'll receive the card and be able to redeem it at a number of local businesses across Beaufort County for a fun treat.
We're partnering with the Beaufort County School District to have free lunches again this summer for kids and teens ages 0-18.
This program is designed for all ages, babies, kids, teens, and adults! The paper forms are very intentional as well - we don't want this to feel like homework, it's meant to be relaxed and fun and easiest enough for ANYONE to do! And if you need help along the way or have questions, we have libraries full of staff members waiting to help.
