Advocating Mentoring in South Carolina

At Real Champions, Inc. that’s what we do: We bring Hope by bringing a person into the lives of the most vulnerable children.
Hope can only be hand carried through a trusted relationship which leads to an experience that ends with a fulfilled purpose!
We break intergenerational poverty by hiring, training, coach ing and supporting a full-time, paid trained, professional Advocate Mentor for the most vulnerable children. This Advocate Mentor is placed with the family, with full permission of the parent, and becomes a trusted navigator, guide, coach, friend, mentor and advocate beginning in the first grade and lasting through high school graduation.
The children we serve live in chaotic and unstable situations and deal with situations and emotions that they do not know how to handle. Showing children how to handle difficult situations and how to deal with their very human emotions are the weekly job of a Real Champions Inc. Advocate Mentor.
By spending four hours a week, mentoring the child in academic endeavors, emotional development and behavioral situations, the Advocate Mentor makes a long-term difference in the life of the child.
At Real Champions, Inc., we work hand-in-hand with the school systems, teachers, and other professionals to track a child’s progress, academically, emotionally and behaviorally.
Three of our children this year, who have dealt with severe moments of abuse, fear, and even suicidal tendencies, reached out to their Advocate Mentor, first, for support, guidance and comfort. Our families were excited that there was a stabilizing person to the assist them in the challenge of raising children today.
