Preparing for the November 5, 2024 Elections
How to Prepare:
a. If not already registered, the deadline to register in person is Friday, October 4th @ 5:00 p.m.; Online is Sunday, October 6th at 11:50 pm (scVotes.gov website); or by October 7th by mail (must be postmarked by this date).
b. Voters need to make a plan to vote. Decide which method you will use (i.e., early voting, by absentee mail, or on Election Day).
c. Make sure your address is up to date in the Voter Registration System.
d. Make sure you have the proper Photo Ids (valid SC driver’s license, SC DMV Id card, VR card with photo, Military/Government Id, or US passport).
e. If voting on Election Day, know where your polling location is. (scVotes.gov). Polls opens from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Early Voting:
a. October 21, - November 2 (Monday – Saturday) 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
b. Four (4) locations in Beaufort County
Beaufort Main Office, 15 John Galt Rd., Beaufort, SC
St. Helena Branch Library, 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Rd., St. Helena Isl., SC
Bluffton Recreation Center Gymnasium, 61A Ulmer Rd., Bluffton, SC
USCB- HH Campus, Rm. 115, 1 Sand Shark Dr., HHI, SC
Whatever method of voting you decide to do, do it early in the process.
Those wanting to vote by mail, make your request for an absentee ballot now. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is October 25 (11 days before the election) Ballots must be received by the office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Visit SCVotes.gov before going to the polls on Election Day to verify where your polling location is.
