The weather and daylight savings time is changing but the need is still here.
New food rescue initiative Post Vacation Food Donation starts April 1, 2023. Over 25 local property management companies, timeshare owners, and rental companies are coming together to help their friends & neighbors in need. These companies represent over 1,000 individual properties.
Providence Presbyterian has joined Second Helpings as a new Partner Pantry/Agency. This is a joint venture consisting of three churches working together to help the local community (Oxygen Church, Bethel Church, and Providence Presbyterian.) They join the following who already serve the Island: Boys & Girls Club, St. Francis Outreach, St. Andrews By the Sea & Grateful Hearts soup kitchen, The Deep Well Project, Sandalwood Food Pantry, Holy Family Food Pantry, Central Oak Grove.
Wine Down Wednesday was a sold-out event at Wexford Village! Over 250 tickets sold. This event generated over $3000 which translates to over 20,000 pounds of rescued food that will go towards feeding those on the island in need!
Heritage Week, always a good way to see what the island has to offer and give to help those in need. Birdies for Charity!
Every donation counts, every gift and time spent helping others really does change people’s lives. Now more than ever, it’s easier to get involved and help those in need. Donate your time to help local pantries, donate food to help feed those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from, and if you can give money towards food rescue. $1 will put over 5 meals in someone’s refrigerator or pantry.
