Improving the Flow of Traffic in Southern Beaufort County
The top road priority is repaving and widening I-95 to three lanes in each direction from (and inclusive of) the bridge at the SC/GA line to Exit 8. That will begin early next year. I am now working with the SCDOT on plans to extend improvements further to the Walterboro exits.
Plans are also in place to widen, redesign, signalize, and/or repave: 1) US 278 from I-95 to SC 170; 2) SC 170, Argent Boulevard, and US 278, aka, the Triangle; 3) the intersection of US 278 and SC 170; 4) the intersection of SC 170 and SC 462; and 5) SC 315.
