Week 2 of the high school football season kicks off in the Lowco tonight in Ridgeland, and we’ll have another 13 games on the Friday night slate with some great matchups on tap in some electric environments.
The Jaguars will try to move to 2-0 tonight when they host East Clarendon in what figures to be a competitive matchup, and the main card includes a trio of Lowco-on-Lowco matchups.
Battery Creek hosts John Paul the 2nd in an intriguing clash of public vs. private that you can see right here on WHHI, Whale Branch looks to bounce back from a blowout loss to Bluffton when it travels to Hardeeville for the Hurricanes’ first varsity home game in 12 years, and Thomas Heyward hits up Colleton Prep for a key region showdown in SCISA 1A.
Plus, we have three home openers on tap with Beaufort High facing a talented Greenwood team in a high-profile matchup, Hilton Head High taking on former region foe James Island in a major test, and Colleton County welcoming Woodland.
The Hampton County Hurricanes are the new No. 1 team in Class 2A, and they’ll be back in front of a raucous home crowd to take on Allendale-Fairfax, while Hilton Head Christian Academy hosts Bethesda Academy in what could be a high-scoring affair, and Cross Schools is at home against The King’s Academy, if you’re curious about 8-man football.
May River and Bluffton hit the road hoping to return with 2-0 records, as the Sharks take on West Ashley and the Bobcats face Andrew Jackson. Patrick Henry tries to stay unbeaten at Clarendon Hall, and Beaufort Academy travels to St. John’s Christian.
