BJACE Named 2024 Palmetto’s Finest School!
The South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) annually recognizes a few schools that offer excellent instruction and outstanding leadership, augmented by strong family and community involvement and a supportive business community.
The process was fun but also a bit nerve-wracking. Knowing we were competing against the best schools in the state, we felt prepared but also aware that we had a different cohort of students representing the school in each visit—one in the first semester and the other in the second semester. We were also aware no career center has ever won the award and we were facing quite the challenge.
I think it is reassuring to know that others see the same things that our staff and students see. ACE is a welcoming school that puts students first, helping them pursue their passions and prepare for their next steps. We are blessed to have 2 great feeder districts with supporting boards and superintendents and 8 feeder high schools with outstanding leadership and students.
ACE becomes a home to our students. We are a school that puts relationships at the forefront of what we do. Knowing our students, meeting them where they are, and celebrating their successes is a powerful tool that empowers students to achieve.
I love the students and the fact that they have skills I do not possess and can teach me about their respective CTE programs. They know more than I do!
It allows students to be themselves in a setting that is preparing them for success. We are teaching skills that will allow for immediate and long-term success.
