An Evening of Poetry with Glenis Redmond and Marlanda Dekine
At Sandie's in the Beaufort Black Chamber of Commerce (711 Bladen St.)
Poet Glenis Redmond is the first poet laureate of Greenville, SC, a 2022 inductee of the South Carolina Academy of Authors (the Palmetto State’s Literary Hall of Fame), and a 2020 recipient of the South Carolina Governor’s Award for the Arts. Poet Marlanda Dekine is newly named as the South Carolina Arts Commission Fellow for Spoken Word / Slam Poetry and winner of the 2021 New Southern Voices Poetry Prize. Both award-winning writers will be reading from their poetry at Sandies at the Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce (711 Bladen St.) on Friday, November 4, at 5:30pm
Glenis will also be teaching a poetry workshop, Working with Wonder: Creating Couplets and Ekphrastic Poetry, on Saturday, Nov 5, from 10:00 to noon at the Conroy Center. $45/person.

Our nonprofit Pat Conroy Literary Center will host an evening of poetry with Libby Bernardin, author of House in Need of Mooring (Press 53) and Jane Zenger, author of Night Bloomer (Muddy Ford Press) on Tuesday, November 15, at 5:00pm at the Conroy Center (601 Bladen St.). Libby is visiting from Georgetown, and Jane from Columbia.
