April numbers in The Market remained high as we distributed more than 47,000 pounds of food.
72 new families registered for The Market in April.
Our client advocates had 148 one-on-one encounters with neighbors in April; 25 of those meetings with neighbors regarding job searches, resume building, and interview skills...
So, we know families continue to struggle. This means two things for us:
1. We need to ensure that The Market is stocked for the families who will rely on us this summer. We see more activity in The Market in the summer because children are out of school meaning childcare costs are up and they are not receiving lunch at school.
2. Helping our neighbors find new or improvement their employment situation is crucial --we're hosting employment workshops on June 11 and 19 to assist folks with their resume, practice interview skills, and connect them with our employment partners.
