Help us rescue our 50 Millionth pound coming this fall!
We are raising money to replace Truck #6, which has served us faithfully for 12 years and 150,000. We believe that this truck has enabled our volunteers to rescue and deliver more than five million pounds of food over its lifetime! We are very excited for Coligny’s Rock N’ Ribs festival, called “A 2nd Helping of Music, Booze & Barbeque” in October. FISH Coastal Seafood is kicking things off next week with a “Free Rock N Ribs Warm-Up” on Saturday, July 22 from 7 to 10 pm. Attendees are asked to bring two canned goods to benefit Second Helpings and the more than 50 food pantries, soup kitchens, and family programs we serve.
We are expecting to rescue and distribute our 50 million pound of food this fall! Second Helpings has been serving our local community since 1992. We are excited to share this milestone with this generous community in a few months’ time.
Post-Vacation Food Donation is continuing through September 30 in the Grayco parking lot on Palmetto Bay Road. Visitors and residents alike are encouraged to stop by on Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 am. We have also placed food collection receptacles at the pass office and general store at Palmetto Dunes, and are planning to distribute a few more. Special thanks to Palmetto Dunes for their outstanding support of this program!
