The Port Royal Community Charitable Fund is just 2 years old. We awarded 14 discretionary grants for a total of $20,000 in July 2022. Recently, we completed our first regular grant cycle and awarded $84,500 to 8 area nonprofits.
Together Helping Others is our theme and that's what is happening--from grants like those just awarded to direct giving activities like a food drive, sock drive and upcoming school supply drive are examples.
There's been tremendous support such that we have exceeded fundraising goals and are able to award significant grants--in just two years!
Events to raise money: Unique/classic car show, Signature Catering by SERG did a cooking demo, Deas-Guyz played for a dinner/dance, chili cook-off, and more
Funds are for discretionary grants in 2022 of $20,000 and $84,500 in grants awarded on June 28, this year.
Direct giving: We partnered with Second Helpings for a food drive, with Neighborhood Outreach Connection for a sock drive, we held a diaper drive for Sandalwood Community Food Pantry and are holding a school supply drive coming up in the next few weeks--we're providing additional ways for our residents to help in addition to giving money.
