And it’s time to start throwing around the “D” word when we talk about May River girls golf. Dynasty entered the chat when the Sharks crushed their closest competition by 32 shots across 36 holes to win the Class 4A state championship Tuesday upstate at Saluda Valley. Claire Green carded rounds of 70 and 71 — the only two red numbers on the board over two days — to win by 11 shots.
Domination. That’s another D word that fits.

A couple other teams moved a step closer to state titles as Bridges Prep’s volleyball team swept Carvers Bay in three sets to advance to the third round of the Class 1A playoffs, and Hilton Head High’s girls tennis team breezed by Irmo 6-love to earn a trip to West Florence in the third round of the Class 4A playoffs.
And as the fall season winds down, that means it’s almost time to get in the gym, and we’ll have USCB Sand Shark basketball tipping off in just a couple weeks. Men’s coach Ron Fudala and legendary women’s coach Sharon Versyp sat down with Team Lowco’s Wes Kerr for the first episode of USCB All-Access last night at Okatie Ale House, and now we’re even more excited for college hoops in the Lowco. The episode of USCB All-Access is streaming on the Lowco Media Network.
