The Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton is pleased to once again coordinate a unique fundraiser called Epic House Party on Friday, February 28, 2025.
On that day, dozens of dinner parties will simultaneously be conducted at various homes on Hilton Head and Bluffton, all to raise money for the children who need it the most. Tickets are on sale now at www.epichouseparty.com.
The concept of “Epic House Party” was born during COVID and created out of a need to hold a fundraiser without having a large group gathering. What the Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton Board of Director’s discovered was that people really enjoyed the intimate setting of a dinner party rather than a large, fancy gala. No need for a tux or long gown. Instead, people attend a party with 8-10 other guests (usually your friends!) at a volunteer host home. The Club was also able to eliminate the costs of a large-scale venue, event rentals, florals, linens, signage and more that really eat into the profits of a fundraiser.
For the hosts, there is little work to do. The event is catered with delicious, mouthwatering offerings by Southern Graces Hewitt Oaks. Beer & wine are included in your party package by generous donors and sponsors. Everything a host needs for the party is included and delivered to their home between 3:00-4:30 PM on February 28, 2025. Hosts don’t even have to drive to pick it up! Re-heating and serving instructions are easy and included with your package.
The cost to host a party at your house is $1,000 for 8 people ($125 per person) and includes a small Club donation, appetizers/hors d’oeuvres, entrée, dessert, beer, and wine! Many hosts choose to fund the party outright, while many hosts request that their guests pay them back for the cost of the ticket. There’s no right or wrong way to do it!
As you would in a gala setting, there will be opportunities to learn about the Club and help fundraise. During the intimate dinner party, guests at all homes will watch the same online video about The Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton (complete with adorable messages from Club members!) and will be able to shop from an online marketplace of needs for the Club.
In 2021, Epic House Party raised $68,000 in it’s inaugural year, and the response was overwhelmingly positive from guests, hosts, and sponsors. In 2024, Epic House Party generated a whopping $108,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton across just a dozen host party homes. This year in 2025, the Club seeks to raise $115,000 in net profits for the Club.
“This doesn’t require a ton of effort on anyone’s part,” said Epic House Party Chair and former Bluffton Board President, Mollie Sandman. “During COVID, we really had to think outside the box. We learned so much and one of the things we learned is that people can be generous outside of a formal gala. They like being with their own friends and in the comfort of home. We learned that we could conduct a successful fundraiser all over Bluffton – not just at one site!”
