And it’s time to set our sights on Week 8 of the high school football season. The threat of Hurricane Milton forced another postponement of the Bridge Bowl matchup scheduled for tonight, so we’ll have to wait until Nov. 8 for Bobcats vs. Seahawks, and Hilton Head Christian Academy’s game at First Baptist is up in the air at the moment, but we’ve still got a 10-pack coming Friday, including a trio of Lowco-on-Lowco matchups.
Beaufort High travels to Colleton County in a matchup of teams looking for their first Region 6-4A win, while undefeated May River hits the road to Bishop England in a showdown of the early region favorites with powerful run games and stout defenses. The Sharks are up to No. 4 in Class 4A this week.
Hampton County climbed to No. 3 in Class 2A in this week’s poll, and the Hurricanes are back home for the first time since August with a region game against Lake Marion, while Whale Branch hosts Edisto in another Region 5-2A matchup.
In Region 4-1A, Hardeeville heads to Denmark-Olar and Ridgeland tries to stay perfect in region play with a road game at Allendale-Fairfax.
It’s a Lowco-on-Lowco doubleheader in the SCISA ranks, with a great matchup between John Paul the 2nd and Hilton Head Prep for the afternoon delight in Sea Pines before Patrick Henry hosts Colleton Prep in a key region clash for the nightcap.
Elsewhere in SCISA 1A, Beaufort Academy is at Faith Christian, and Thomas Heyward travels to Andrew Jackson, while Cross Schools hosts Cathedral Academy in an 8-man matchup at Bluffton Middle School.
