SPORTS REPORT

Hey, it’s time for Last Night in the Lowco on WHHI, powered by LowcoSports.com!

It was a slow Monday night on the LowcoSports scene, which gives us an opportunity to put a well-deserved spotlight on the nine high school football stars from the LowcoSports coverage area who earned all-state honors.

You should know these names by now, but just in case, let’s introduce you to the best to rep the Lowco this fall.

In Class 4A, a pair of defensive standouts made the list with Shrine Bowl pick and East Carolina commit Shaikh Thompson from Hilton Head High joined by Bluffton linebacker Jeremiah Curry on the first team.

Fellow South Carolina Shrine Bowl rep Adrian Lamb of Beaufort was a first-team pick in Class 3A after anchoring the Eagles’ offensive line and helping stuff the run on defense, while across town at Whale Branch, the Warriors had a pair of two-way standouts make the Class 1A list with Jackson State commit and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl star KJ Chisholm getting the nod along with pass rusher Bradford Thompson.

And those Hampton County Hurricanes we told you so much about during their magical run this fall were well-represented on the Class 2A list with Mr. Football finalist Zion Dobson joined on the first team by defensive stars Ka’Von Chisolm, Mandrell Sanders, and Jaylen Singletary. Sanders and Singletary will be back for another Hurricane season next fall.

Another 17 Lowco standouts received honorable mention — Bluffton’s Brandon Bryant, Chamber Eldridge and Carnell Warren; Hilton Head’s Caleb Spangler, Thompson May, Connor Wiendl, Nathan Apy, Troy Timko, and Jason Jose; May River’s Hudson Tanner, Gage Duncan, Tanner Macy, William Bonneville, AJ Hamilton, and Kammron Mitchell; and Hampton County’s Cody Segars and Xaviar Garvin.

We’ll honor all of these stars and more on the All-Lowco Football Teams coming soon. We’re looking for more sponsors to make it possible to celebrate these stars who rep the Lowco.

For LowcoSports and WHHI, I’m Justin Jarrett. Until next time, Go Lowco!
