Some future baseball standouts of the Lowco are on display this week at Oscar Frazier Park in Bluffton, but you’re gonna have to wait a while before they arrive on your favorite high school teams.
All-Star season kicked off Monday night with the Rookie League district tournament — we’re talking 6-and-under coach pitch chaos here, folks, and it is pure fun. But don’t get it twisted, these kids are playing to win.
Especially the fellas from Bluffton American, who cruised to a 17-2 win over Beaufort last night to improve to 2-0 and punch their ticket to Thursday’s championship game. They’ll face the winner of tonight’s Beaufort vs. Bluffton National matchup for the district title. With 32 runs in two games, everybody has been swinging it for the boys from Bluffton, but Ben Stefonic, Dylan Roper, and Tate Bigwood have done the most damage. One win away.
