Hardeeville, S.C. – June 13, 2019 – Coastal Carolina Hospital is proud to announce Natalie Paszek as the hospital’s latest Daisy RN Award for Extraordinary Nurses Recipient!
Paszek began her nursing career at Coastal Carolina Hospital in 2009. She stepped down from her role to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Paszek returned to Coastal Carolina Hospital after her military service and currently works in the Interventional Radiology Department.
Paszek was nominated for the award by a colleague. The colleague wrote “Where do I start? Natalie is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met or had the fortune to work with. No task is too big or small for Natalie. She is always calm and reassuring to all the patients she encounters. The special procedures we do in Radiology can be very scary for most patients – Natalie is the first person they encounter and she ALWAYS has them at east and ready by the time we begin the procedure. Natalie is the epitome of a Daisy Nominee – a positive attitude, exceptional nursing skills, a strong working relationship with her peers, a special connection with all patients she has contact with, caring in all situations, and defines the mission and values of Coastal Carolina Hospital.”
The Daisy Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a cancer patient who lost his battle after a brief period of time. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they started a foundation to have a way to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manner.
“Natalie will take on anything asked of her with a positive attitude,” said Jane Ouimette, Market Director of Imaging Services. “She assists other departments when she is available and always does it with a smile on her face. She takes exceptional care of our patients and is very patient and calming when speaking with everyone. Natalie is a valuable member to Coastal Carolina Hospital and to our organization.”
