Hardeeville Walmart Donates to Boys & Girls Clubs

August 5, 2019, Hardeeville, S.C. – The Walmart Foundation opens
applications for a period of time for its State Giving Programs. South Carolina
non-profits with programs that focus on hunger relief, career opportunities,
education programs, health care access and other human service programs
designed to meet the needs of underserved, low-income populations are
encouraged to apply.

On August 5, 2019, local Hardeeville Walmart General Manager, Annie Price
selected the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry – Jasper County Clubs as a
recipient for a 2019 Community Grant. Price stated, “It is a pleasure to help
local non-profits within Jasper County and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Jasper
County aligns perfectly with our mission of giving.”

DeLauren White, Director of Program Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs
of the Lowcountry, accepted the grant saying, “Community support such as
Walmart is vital to the success we experience everyday within our nine clubs in
Beaufort and Jasper County.”

Walmart’s support will help youth in Jasper County receive STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programming. STEM provides
youth who might otherwise not have access to STEM experiences with simple,
fun, hands-on activities. Exposure to science, technology, engineering and math
is critical during the tween years when young people’s natural curiosity drives
interest and builds capacity for success in these disciplines.
