June 14, 2019, Hilton Head Island, SC – Kids at the Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts prepared their boats earlier this week for the 3rd Annual Cardboard Regatta. Ready to race, the boats made of cardboard, duct tape and recycled materials were created by the rising 4th through 6th grade STEM summer camp students.
Hoping not to sink, the campers raced their creations from one end of the pool to the other. While creating the boats for the regatta, the 25 kids were encouraged to think creatively and use the engineering skills taught at the (STEM) science, technology, engineering, arts and math camp.
