Statement of Intention of Candidacy Required For Bluffton Town Council

Bluffton, S.C.- A Statement of Intention of Candidacy-Non-Partisan form must be filed by anyone interested in running for Town Council.

The Town of Bluffton General Election will take place on November 7, 2017. Candidacy requires that one is an eligible voter within the Town of Bluffton prior to that date. A seat on Town Council entails a four-year term in a non-partisan office.

The form is available at both the Town of Bluffton Town Hall, and on the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County website under “Candidate Filing.”

Filing will be open from August 9th to September 8th. The form may be filed at the Bluffton Town Hall, 20 Bridge Street anytime from 8 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Monday-Thursday or 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Friday. The $100 filing fee is paid at the time of filing.

To avoid a fine, those interested must also file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure through the State Ethics Commission’s Website.
