Town of Bluffton Accommodations Tax Applications

June 14, 2019, Bluffton, SC – The Town of Bluffton’s Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee (ATAC) will be accepting applications for this quarter’s accommodation tax grant awards through Monday, July 1, 2019, at noon. Applications can be delivered to Town Hall, located at 20 Bridge Street.

The Accommodations Tax funds are generated from a tax on the gross proceeds derived from the rental of rooms for lodging or sleeping accommodations furnished to the same person for a period less than 90 days within the Town of Bluffton. In the fiscal year 2019, the Town has averaged $122,900 in funds to disperse per quarter to date to non-profit organizations to assist in promoting tourism, arts, cultural events and other tourism-related expenditures. 

Each quarter the Town’s Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee (ATAC) reviews grant applications and makes a recommendation to Town Council regarding awards.  The next ATAC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall.
